Hebrews 11:1 (NIV) “Faith is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see.”
For 18 years I have served as the worship pastor for the same church. My wife and I have truly enjoyed doing life with this precious group of people. Several years ago, we had a pastoral change. The Lord brought a dynamic pastor in to lead our flock. She and I have worked very well together, creating many three dimensional worship services through worship music, creative backgrounds, and inspiring messages.
About five months ago, God began to speak to my heart that it was time to step down. Step down where? To what? He did not respond to my numerous questions. Instead, He continued to make it clear to my heart. “It’s time for you to step down.”
So, as of December 31st of this year, I will no longer be a full time worship pastor at a local church. I am on an adventure into the unknown. I have no idea what it will look like. God has not given me an agenda or an itinerary. His only words are “Follow me.” And so, I will follow.
Here is what I do know…He is faithful. He has a plan far greater than I can comprehend. He equips and provides wherever He leads. It’s not about me. It’s about His Kingdom. I need only obey. Step. By. Step.
